PUTRAJAYA: The enhanced movement control order (MCO) for two areas in Simpang Renggam in Kluang, Johor has been extended to April 14.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri said the extension was decided at a special Cabinet meeting on non-health related issues during the MCO.
"The meeting agreed to the extension as there are a few things that are still being worked on," he said on Thursday (April 9).
The 14-day enhanced MCO for Kampung Datuk Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baharu Datuk Ibrahim Majid in Simpang Renggam was enforced on March 26 and was supposed to end on April 9.
The two areas were the first to be put under enhanced MCO due to the high number of Covid-19 cases recorded there.
The government has since enforced enhanced MCO in three other areas, affecting 3,570 residents from 650 families.
