KUALA LUMPUR: A sum of RM12.1mil in zakat assistance to those who are eligible has been approved by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) and will be disbursed early next month.
The council, in a statement Saturday (March 21), said the assistance would benefit 24,196 people in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, and each receiving RM500.
