PETALING JAYA: A famous cosmetics entrepreneur is alleged to have hit his two-year-old adopted child in a bid to create content for his social media channel.
The incident reportedly occurred two months ago at the entrepreneur's residence in Petaling Jaya.
According to Berita Harian, the man slapped the two-year-old with his hand because he wanted to film the child crying as part of the content for his social media channel.
The daily added that a police report was made regarding the incident, with the complainant saying that the entrepreneur asked her to put the child into a shoe closet (bill kasut) and join him in hitting her.
The complainant, however, said she refused as she was afraid the child would be hurt.
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal confirmed that a report had been lodged over the incident, adding that police had taken statements from all individuals involved, including the suspect.
He added that the case was being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
Meanwhile, a police report pertaining to a child abuse case with the names of famous cosmetics entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri and his adopted daughter Aminah Alip Shah has been circulating online.
Aliff's Instagram account was also flooded with comments from netizens asking for an explanation on the matter.
"Is it true that you hit Ameena (Aminah's nickname)? Just because you want to do a live video, you hit her?" said one comment.
Another read: "Did you really hit your adopted child? I don't mind if you hit your child if the child has done something wrong, but there needs to be a cause not just random."
"Such a pity you hit Ameena, there is even a police report," read another comment.
Aliff, however, has not commented on the matter until now.
