IPOH: Perak DAP's A. Sivanesan has seemingly thrown in the towel on Pakatan Harapan retaining the state government.
Met at the state secretariat building on Monday (Mar 2), the Sungkai assemblyman said the "game is over" in the state, even though he has yet to get any feedback from state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
"We are unable to meet him. I have tried to call, but it went unanswered and he did not even call back.
"I still believe that we can continue to be the ruling party in Perak, but whether it is so, it all depends on Faizal," he said.
Sivanesan said he was getting ready to pack up his office and would be thanking the departmental heads under his portfolio.
He said he was not in shock, as the state constitutional crisis in 2009 was worse.
"This is my second experience. Me and Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, who was the Mentri Besar then, were the two surviving ones from then.
"It's something expected. The beautiful thing this time is that we stayed for 20 months," he said.
"The last time, it was over in 10 months so this is an improvement," he added.
Sivanesan said he would return to work as a lawyer if indeed Pakatan has lost its hold on the state government.
"I will return as a lawyer for the second time.
"Courts are nothing new to me, it's my second house," he said.
"I will leave my official car at the state secretariat today, until I get a feedback from Faizal," he added.
Meanwhile, Nizar still believes Faizal is still with Pakatan.
"Has he made any official statement that he has left Pakatan?
"He could be there for a meal, which doesn't mean anything," he said, referring to the video where Faizal left newly-appointed Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's house in Kuala Lumpur following the appointment ceremony on Sunday (March 1).
"As of now, there's no instructions yet and so far, I've not heard of anyone of us rejecting Faizal," he said.
"Be calm, don't speculate," he added.
