Perak Umno nominates Saarani as state MB

IPOH: Perak Umno has unanimously nominated its chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad (pic) as the candidate for Perak mentri besar.

According to a report by Astro Awani, the Kota Tampan assemblyman is now waiting for a decision from the Perak palace.

Saarani was reported as saying that the decision was made after a discussion with Perak Mentri Besar and state Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

He said PAS and Bersatu would also send in its respective candidates for the post to be decided by the Perak Sultan.

"It is clear that Muafakat Nasional has agreed to work with Bersatu to form the new state government," he said.

"We've met and agreed to form the state government," he added.
