PETALING JAYA: A married couple from China, who were the seventh and eighth Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, have recovered and discharged from hospital.
The Health Ministry said the couple, who received treatment at Hospital Permai in Johor Baru, were allowed to return home on Tuesday (Feb 18) afternoon.
“The husband and wife have fully recovered after two consecutive repeat tests were negative.
“As a result, all positive Covid-19 cases that were treated at Hospital Permai in Johor Baru have fully recovered and have been discharged, ” Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The number of Covid-19 patients in Malaysia who has recovered and allowed to return home is 13.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country remains at 22, with nine patients still under treatment.
Out of the 22 cases, 15 are China nationals, six are Malaysians and one is an American.
