JOHOR BARU: Gerakan will be going all out to woo voters on Super Sunday (Nov 10), as it expects many outstation voters, including those working in Singapore, would be returning to the constituency.
Party president Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai urged party members to go around Tanjung Piai on Sunday to engage with voters.
He said Gerakan decided to change its party's annual delegates convention and move it down south in an effort to help its candidate, Wendy Subramaniam, in the Tanjung Piai by-election.
He said that the original date for the convention was on polling day on Nov 16 in Kuala Lumpur.
"So we brought the meeting forward and moved it to Johor," he said, adding that for the first time in 50 years, the party was using its own logo and flag in a by-election.
He then introduced Wendy, who got a thunderous round of applause from the delegates.
