Kit Siang: DAP's focus is on Tg Piai, will deal with Perak MB issue after polls

PONTIAN: DAP will deal with the viral video involving Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu after the Tanjung Piai by-election, says its party advisor Lim Kit Siang.

The Iskandar Puteri MP said that the party's focus right now is on winning the by-election and any other issues will have to wait.

"At present, the focus should be on this by-election. There have been attempts to cause disintegration in Pakatan Harapan but this will not benefit anyone," he said, adding that Pakatan needs to single-mindedly focus on the by-election.

He said this to reporters after giving a speech at a Budget 2020 forum here at Kukup on Friday (Nov 8) and added that he accepts the Mentri Besar's explanation and would only deal with the matter after the polls.

"The Mentri Besar said that it was taken out of context, I do not know what actually transpired, but we take his word and if there is anything to pursue, it will be after the by-election," he said.

Asked if it will effect the by-election campaign here, Lim said that it would not.

"I don't think it will if we put our full focus on the polls," he said.

Earlier, a video clip posted on one Azizi Safar's Facebook page saw Ahmad Faizal discussing with a group of people on how he has to face DAP over certain issues, including Malay land.

''I am fighting alone with the DAP group. I want to defend the Malay land and to fight for our religion. I am doing this slowly," he said.

"Thankfully, some friends in Umno don't scold me. They are good with me," he added.

The two-minute-47-second video clip is believed to have been taken during the Tanjung Piai by-election campaign as Pakatan's candidate Karmaine Sardini was also seen in the footage.
