Celebration marks Lim Kit Siang's birthday, career


GEORGE TOWN: DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang has called on party members to continue to work hard for Malaysia.

He said the country must be built on justice, equality and fairness.

"One thing we have to learn over the years is that things do not change overnight," he said in his speech during his 84th Birthday celebrations held at the Han Chiang School hall in George Town, Penang on Saturday (Feb 15).

Among those present at the celebrations were his son national DAP chairman Lim Guan Eng, State DAP chairman Steven Sim, State DAP deputy chairman Ramkarpal Singh, State DAP Vice-chairman Zairil Khir Johari, Kit Siang's daughter and state DAP Secretary Lim Hui Ying.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow was not present as he is away in Japan.
