KUALA LUMPUR: Another investigation paper has been opened against Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Lokman Noor Adam, after online statements he made were flagged by the police for being seditious.

“On Oct 27, we received a police report regarding a statement by Lokman Adam that said that Parliament should be dissolved.

“This statement was made under a Facebook page that goes by Lokman Adam SSR, and the post also stated to ‘Bersiap-sedia untuk perperangan paling dasyat (get ready for a violent fight)’, ” said Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed at a press conference on Wednesday (Oct 30) at Bukit Aman, adding that the owner of the page was indeed Lokman.

The Bukit Aman CID director also said that investigations would be conducted under the Sedition Act 1948 and the Communications and Multimedia Act (CMA) 1998.

Comm Huzir revealed that the police had already opened 17 investigation papers against Lokman to date.

“We have opened seven papers under the Classified Criminal Investigations Department, and 10 under the various police contingents. A lot of his statements are provocative and could disrupt public safety.

“We will suggest to the court to have additional conditions to his bond as he has previously been charged.

“If the courts agree, he would then be required to report himself to the nearest police station every month, ” he said.

Comm Huzir also said that the police would be investigating the owner of the Facebook page “Maran Muniandy”, after a post touched on racial lines.

Regarding updates to investigations on the “Belt and Road Initiative for Win Winism" comic, Comm Huzir said that academicians are being sought after to verify facts in the book.

“We have identified a few that could help us. We will also get the opinion of the DPP to see if we need to record more statements from other people, ” he said.
