SHAH ALAM: i-City has launched AI Living @ i-City, a new vision for residential living that brings together intelligent home technology, robotics, wellness and connected services to make everyday life more convenient and responsive to residents' needs.

The development extends beyond the connected smart home, combining home automation with practical robotics, personal wellbeing tools, an AI companion and access to trusted services, bringing these capabilities together as part of a wider residential experience.

At the heart of the resident experience is i-Ris, the AI companion for the development.

Designed to understand residents’ needs and preferences, i-Ris will help them interact with their home and coordinate authorised technologies and services across the living environment. The first residential expression of this vision is the 500-unit tower, also named i-Ris.

i-City will be introducing AI Living through a digital-first campaign this month, designed to help homebuyers understand what the development is and how AI and robotics could become part of residential life by its targeted completion in 2030.

In the AI era, introducing a new way of living calls for a new way of reaching and engaging homebuyers. i-City and its four appointed property agencies will lead with digital media content and advertising to build awareness.

The next stage will be the opening of the i-Ris residence showroom at i-City’s AI World Experience Centre (AIWEC) next January for prospective buyers to learn more about the residential development and experience elements of AI Living and i-Ris.

Datuk Firdaus Musa, the chairman of Firdaus & Associates, the lead marketing agency for the i-Ris residential development, said the campaign is intended to make an unfamiliar proposition easier for homebuyers to understand.

“Our challenge is not merely to market residential units, but to help prospective buyers appreciate how technology can transform the way they live. From intelligent home automation to AI-assisted security, elderly care and lifestyle management, we are introducing a concept that goes beyond the traditional smart home,” he said.

“The digital-first launch enables us to reach a wider audience, create awareness and build understanding before buyers visit the showroom. The physical showroom will then provide a more personalised experience, allowing prospective purchasers to appreciate the concept and make informed purchasing decisions.”

Additionally, Savills Malaysia group managing director Datuk Paul Khong said AI Living represents an evolution in Malaysia’s residential property market.

“AI Living now introduces a new dimension where intelligent services and robotics capabilities are brought to life in residents’ homes and continue throughout the life of the home with consistent upgrades,” he said.

“This creates a new class of living residential properties, where buyers live beyond just the physical buildings to the wider ecosystem of services powered by AI that supports their next-gen lifestyle.”

i-Ris AI companion

AI Living is designed as an integrated residential experience, with intelligent home functions, robotics, wellness capabilities, the i-Ris AI companion and access to trusted services working together.

The emphasis is on how these capabilities can support residents in everyday life.

i-Ris is designed to help residents access intelligent home services, robotics and wellness support through a more personalised living experience.

i-Ris is intended to serve as a familiar point of interaction within this ecosystem, designed to understand residents’ needs and preferences and help coordinate authorised services across the home and wider living environment.

The development's layouts, circulation paths, service areas and infrastructure are being planned to accommodate domestic robotics alongside the needs of residents.

A wider tech ecosystem

AI Living builds on more than two decades of technology-led development at i-City, complementing the technology and robotics ecosystem already taking shape in the township.

AIWEC, developed in collaboration with AgiBot, a leading Chinese robotics company, showcases more than 100 robots in interactive settings.

The i-Ris residence showroom at AIWEC will connect these technologies with potential applications in residential living.

For i-City, AI Living is the next stage in the evolution of its technology-led urban ultrapolis: a connected residential environment where homes, intelligent systems and services can develop over time.

i-City chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said the purpose of AI Living is to apply technology in ways that benefit daily life.

“We believe homes will increasingly be expected to understand, assist and adapt to the people who live in them. i-Ris, our AI Companion, is our vision of how artificial intelligence can make everyday life easier, healthier and more convenient.”
