Johor DAP lawmaker offers to buy Zakir Naik a one-way ticket to India

JOHOR BARU: A DAP assemblyman from Johor has offered to buy Zakir Naik a plane ticket to India.

Stulang assemblyman Andrew Chen Kah Eng (pic) said he was prepared to get Zakir a one-way ticket to India as he was trying to ruin the harmony among Malaysians

The Johor DAP deputy publicity secretary added that Zakir should not be treated as a guest in this country.

“Zakir is not a Malaysian and he is definitely not welcomed by Malaysians, so kindly leave our country and go back to India, ” he said here on Thursday (Aug 15).

Chen promised that he would be sponsoring the air ticket for Zakir, adding that it must be a one-way trip.

Last week, Zakir called on Malaysian Chinese to “go back” first as they were the “old guests” of the country during a religious talk called “Executive Talk bersama Dr Zakir Naik” in Kota Baru, Kelantan in response to calls for his deportation.

Zakir was also chastised by many parties after he compared the Hindus in Malaysia to the Muslims in India, saying that the Hindus in Malaysia enjoyed more than 100% rights compared to Muslims in India.

He alleged that the Hindus here were more loyal to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi than Malaysia’s Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Zakir is wanted in India over corruption charges but has not been deported as certain parties here believe the charges were trumped-up.

Dr Mahathir has since admitted that Malaysia is in a Catch-22 situation as Zakir was “an unwelcome guest Malaysia can’t send away”.
