Woman bares all but loses RM800 instead of gaining RM15,000

Delicate situation: Chong holding some photos Lee was blackmailed with at the MCA Public Services and Complaints Department.

KUALA LUMPUR: A woman was promised RM15,000 for providing photos of her foot, buttocks and even a full frontal nude photo but ended up being blackmailed for RM800.

The 23-year-old, who wanted to be identified only as Lee, said a woman named Ting first approached her on social messaging app WeChat on July 5.

Lee, a salesperson, said Ting had requested her to take a photo of her foot which would be uploaded to a website in China and not in Malaysia.

Lee also said she was offered RM35 for a photo of her foot with her face and RM80 for a photo of her buttocks and her foot.

She was then offered RM500 for a few naked photos and RM1,000 for a video, she said.

“(I did it) for my family. I needed the money, so I did not think much of it,” she said during a press conference held by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong yesterday.

Lee said Ting even provided sample reference photos for her to take, adding that she has sent a total of 20 photos and five videos which would earn her RM15,000.

However, she said she was not paid the RM15,000 and that Ting even requested her to take a masturbation video.

When she declined, she was threatened with having her photos and videos posted on social media sites as well as sent to her family and friends.

Lee said that Ting then demanded RM800 to be paid yesterday but she only managed to pay RM350 in three transactions.

“Actually, the person has not looked for me for two days but I am still very scared. I’d like to take legal action. So I decided to come here (Chong’s office) to get some advice and help,” she said.

Meanwhile, Chong said Lee was even told to become a prostitute if she could not pay the RM800.

“Lee already said she had no money, but the person on the other end said she could arrange for her to become a prostitute.

“I want to warn all the women and victims out there that you cannot pay these people money.

“You will keep on paying. Fight them and lodge a police report. Let the police investigate,” he said.
