PETALING  JAYA: Johor MCA Youth has urged the authorities to be more efficient and communicate more closely to resolve the chemical dumping incident in Sungai Kim Kim in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

“We would like to emphasise that it is a dangerous disaster. Such crisis has to be resolved through professional scientific methods immediately.

"Every department should cooperate to establish efficient communications network to deal with the incident in Pasir Gudang,” Johor MCA Youth chief Ng Tian Soon said in a statement.

He also lambasted the Johor government for being slow and not disclosing the name of the company and the offenders in the dumping incident.

“The pollution happened last week, the authorities under state government did not announce the progress of the investigation and the cleaning process in a timely manner. The company's name and the offenders involved have also not been announced,” he said.

Ng also asked if Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Osman Sapian, who urged all parties not to blame anybody and the Opposition not to politicise the incident, really understood the actual situation in Pasir Gudang.

He also asked if the statement was to give excuses for the delayed action.

Ng noted that Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim only submitted a motion to Parliament on Thursday after the toxic waste was spread throughout Pasir Gudang.

“MCA Youth calls on Hassan to go back to the area, go to the ground and understand the latest developments, and feel the worries of the residents,” he added.
