A taxi driver in Melaka has been remanded for seven days over allegations that he had been raping his 14-year-old daughter for eight years, Harian Metro reported.
Melaka CID chief Asst Comm Mohd Nor Yhazid Idris said the suspect, 53, was arrested at his home in Semabok at 7pm on Tuesday after he returned from work.
He said the victim was accompanied by her mother to lodge a report against the suspect at the Melaka Tengah Police Station.
“The victim had told her teachers about the incident,” Mohd Nor said.
“The latest incident happened on Feb 9. She claimed that she was raped while her mother and little brother were not at home.”

Wan Adib Fawwaz Wan Mohd Fauzi, 19, pleaded not guilty at the magistrate’s court in Kuala Terengganu.
The teen was accused of pointing a knife at his father, Wan Mohd Fauzi Wan Yusof, 46, before threatening to stab him at their home in Kampung Tebauk on Feb 20.
He allegedly got angry after his father chided him for finishing the keropok that was meant for the family’s supper. He then threatened to kill his father before his mother defused the situation.
Magistrate Abdul Hayyi Salim set bail at RM3,000 and fixed March 5 for mention.
> The Petaling Jaya magistrate’s court has issued actor Datuk Farid Kamil Zahari a reminder to be punctual for his court hearing after he was late for over three hours for his court appearance, Sinar Harian reported.
Magistrate Nor Ariffin Hisham told the actor to take note of the dates that had been fixed for the hearing of his case.
Farid said his lawyer Megat Syazlee Mokhtarom, who was still on medical leave following a road accident, was late in informing him about his court appearance.
He is facing criminal and drug abuse charges.
