M’sia, S’pore work to solve maritime issue

The slump in Singapore - often seen as a bellwether for the health of the global economy - is the latest evidence that momentum has slowed across Asia as the year-long U.S.-China trade war and sliding growth weigh on the region's export-reliant economies.

KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysia and Singapore working group has met in Putrajaya to discuss maritime issues surrounding the Johor Baru port limits and Singapore port limits.

In a joint statement, the Foreign Ministry said the working group, established by the foreign ministers of both countries, had discussed the legal and operational matters in order to de-escalate the situation on the ground and provide a basis for further negotiations.
