PETALING JAYA: The Human Resource Development Fund has appointed retired diplomat Datuk Noor Farida Mohd Ariffin (pic) as the chairman of its board of directors.
The appointment is made effective Jan 1.
"Noor Farida has had a long and distinguished career in public service as a judge, legal adviser and diplomat, most notably as the Ambassador of Malaysia to Netherlands.
"Since her retirement from the Foreign Ministry in 2012, Noor Farida has, among others, headed the law reform committee at the National Council of Women Organisations," the fund said in a statement.
It added that she also serves on the boards of Ecoworld Berhad and Aerospace Technology Systems Corp. Sdn Bhd.
Noor Farida has been the spokesperson of the G25 group, which comprised eminent former civil servants.
Last year, HRDF made headlines as high-ranking officers in group had allegedly misappropriated about RM100mil in funds.
Human Resources Minister M. Kulasegaran, who disclosed the matter, said that reports were lodged with the police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Companies Commission of Malaysia to ensure civil and criminal action will be taken on the matter.
