Feng shui experts: Malaysia in a good position to thwart bad luck

PETALING JAYA: It may not even be Christmas yet but feng shui experts are already looking forward to the Chinese new year.

The Year of the Pig, according to feng shui master Kenny Hoo (pic), will be the year to see an integration of Oriental and Western values with the world power shifting from the United States back to Asia. “Malaysia is very good in terms of feng shui as we are well protected by many islands.

“The qi (life force) is flowing down south, giving us a scenario where countries in the southern part of Asia are becoming more influential and dominant.

“That’s why in 2017, we named the year as the New World Order and this year, Transformation Of The New Order,” he said.

“It is when companies and individuals embrace technological advancement,” Hoo said.

Although companies could be downsizing or shrinking departments, Hoo foresees a year where many will also be seeking new paths or venturing into new businesses.

“In 2019, there will be more ups and downs and more uncertainty in the stock market as we slowly enter a new feng shui era known as Period Nine,” he said.

Hoo said next year, Earth, Wood and Fire would be the most auspicious among the five feng shui elements, with businesses in the property, medical, rubber, food, technology and telecommunications sectors gaining prominence.

He said it would also be a good year for those seeking to purchase property but reminded buyers to look for houses with good feng shui for future appreciation in value and good luck.

For those with the Chinese zodiac sign of the Horse, Rat and Dragon, Hoo said they would have a smooth year but warned that those under the sign of the Snake and Pig might face more challenges. Another feng shui master Mak Foo Wengg thinks there is a possibility of a financial crisis, advising those actively trading in the stock market and finance industry to be wary.
