PETALING JAYA: There’s just no stopping Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
The beloved songstress has topped Spotify’s list of most streamed Malaysian artistes of 2018.
This is the second consecutive year Siti held on to the top spot.
Despite taking a short break from the music scene to focus on motherhood, Siti’s catalogue of songs on Spotify is still very much in demand among Malaysians.
“I am happy to hear that I am Spotify’s most streamed local artistes of 2018. Ever since I went on a break in May 2017, I know that my fans who missed me have been streaming my (older) songs.
“I owe this to the unwavering support of my dedicated fans, the Sitizoners,” she said.
Siti gave birth to baby girl Siti Aafiyah Khalid in March after trying for 11 years.
While she limited her public appearances during her break, Siti did release three songs this year namely Cinta Syurga, Anta Permana and Comel Pipi Merah, a song she dedicated to her daughter.
Rounding up the Top 5 most streamed Malaysian artistes of 2018 are Sufian Suhaimi, Haqiem Rusli, Faizal Tahir and Ismail Izzani.
In its annual look back in music, Spotify reveals that South Korean boy band BTS is the most streamed artiste of 2018 in Malaysia.
