PETALING JAYA: “You are strong. Get up quick, please. Pray for my fiancé... I am not strong enough to watch you like this.”
These are the words of Nurul Najihah, the fiancee of Fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, who is now fighting for his life after he was critically injured while responding to an emergency at the Sri Maha Mariamman.
It is learned that Muhammad Adib, 24, suffered a broken rib and internal injuries after rioters forcefully pulled him out of the emergency medical response vehicle he was in.
He is due to be married next month.
Nurul took to Facebook to express her concerns, and asked for prayers for her fiance's well-being.
"Kamu kuat. Cepat bangunn kamu. Muhammad Adib. Doakan tunang saya .. tak kuat tgok kamu mcm tu."
Netizens alike wished the couple their best, with the post garnering over 500 well-wishing comments as of Tuesday (Nov 27) afternoon.
Housing and local government minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said Muhammad Adib's condition had not changed since he was brought in at around 1am on Tuesday.
"He is now in critical condition and on life support," she said, adding that there were injuries to his chest, which are causing him breathing difficulties.
“And it also looks like he was whacked and stomped, which caused his ribs to fracture and puncture his lungs.
She also said five specialists are looking after him around the clock while he is in intensive care.
