Annuar Musa, KJ agree with Daim - it's time to stop the blame game

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Khairy Jamaluddin have lauded Tun Daim Zainuddin (pic) for calling on the Pakatan Harapan administration to move forward and stop the blame game against the previous Barisan Nasional government.

“If we just keep blaming the previous government, we will never move forward. So, I think it’s a very fair comment,” Annuar, who is Umno secretary-general, said to reporters when met at the Parliament lobby on Monday (Nov 12).

According to Annuar, the remarks made by Daim, who is chairman of the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP), showed that he was concerned about the government’s performance.

“And I think that should be the way because at the end of the day, the government must deliver,” he said.

Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin, when met by reporters in Parliament, said it was time that Pakatan got its act together.

Calling it a "sound advice" from Daim, Khairy said it has been almost six months since Pakatan came into power.

"Now you (Pakatan) have your own Budget. If there is any wrongdoing, take action in court.

"You've already charged former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in court but continue to point fingers at the previous Barisan government.

"I think people are getting fed up, so this is good advice (from Daim)," he added.

On Oct 8, Daim said that the Pakatan government needs to concentrate on delivering its promises to the people who voted them in during GE14, and forget what happened in the past.

Daim, without mincing his words, said that what happened in the past is history, and the new government should stop pointing fingers at the former Barisan administration, which ruled the country for over 60 years.
