Sources: Anwar to contest Negri seat


PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will contest a parliamentary seat in Negri Sembilan in a by-election.

The PKR president-elect has already picked a seat, according to top party sources.

Danyal Balagopal Abdullah, MP for Port Dickson is the only PKR parliamentary representative from Negri Sembilan. 

In the 14th General Election, Danyal won the Port Dickson seat with 36,225 votes while VS Mogan of Barisan Nasional tallied 18,515 votes and PAS' Mahfuz Roslan garnered 6,594 votes. This gave Danyal a comfortable majority of 17, 710 votes.
