Zahid arrives for second round of questioning at MACC HQ

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is back at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here for a second round of questioning on Tuesday (July 3).

The former deputy prime minister arrived at 9.50am in a black SUV.

He was here on Monday (July 2) and was questioned for eight hours.

Dr Ahmad Zahid is being summoned to assist in the ongoing MACC probe into 1MDB, specifically on his purported meeting with a Saudi royal family member in 2015.

He is also being questioned in relation to investigations into an Islamic charity foundation of which he is chairman.

MACC is looking into allegations that RM800,000 from the foundation's funds was used to pay off his and his wife's credit cards.

Also spotted at MACC headquarters was former Johor Baru MP Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad.

When approached, Shahrir said he was asked to be present so that graft investigators could question him on claims that he had received funds from former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
