PETALING JAYA: The threat of superbugs is on the rise in Malaysia as bacteria is developing resistance to antibiotics at an alarming rate – with some now more than 50% stronger against medicines.
This has made treating severe infections difficult, said Health Ministry Medical Development Division Infection Control Unit head Dr Suraya Amir Husin.
