GEORGE TOWN: People went with reusable bags to each collect seven free items, from pastries like tau sar pneah and heong pneah to white coffee and nutmeg balm.

Announcements of the giveaways were circulated via Whatsapp few days ago, and many went to the shop out of curiosity to see if it was true. It was, and the giver wanted to celebrate the zero-rated goods and services tax (GST) and a new state government.
