Dead woman's body too decomposed to determine cause of death, say Negri cops

SEREMBAN: Doctors were unable to establish the cause of death of a 53-year-old woman whose remains were found in a bag and buried behind an unoccupied house in Rembau near here.

State deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said this was because the victim's remains were too decomposed.

"The cause of death is undetermined as the remains had decomposed," he said in a statement.

The autopsy was carried out at Rembau Hospital.

Earlier on Friday (Dec 19), SAC Idzam said police had arrested another man to assist in investigations.

The 51-year-old man, who is also the main suspect, was detained around Genting Sempah, Pahang,on Friday afternoon.

With this arrest, a total of two men have now been held to assist in the investigation.

The first suspect was detained in Melaka and has been remanded for a week to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

On Thursday (Dec 18), state police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said the deceased was believed to be the same woman reported missing in Ampang, Selangor, on Monday (Dec 15).

The woman, identified as Suri Narudin, was reportedly unreachable since Dec 8.
