Unofficial results: BN wins Permatang Berangan state seat in GE14

KEPALA BATAS: Nor Hafizah Othman (pic) from Barisan Nasional has won the Permatang Berangan state seat in Tasek Gelugor with 6,870 votes, according to unofficial results.

It was a close call with PAS candidate Mohd Sobri Saleh coming in second with 6,224 votes.

Nor Hafizah, 42, defeated former Penang state exco member and Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shariff Omar, 70, of Pakatan Harapan.

He received 5,021 votes, while PRM candidate Azman Shah Othman polled 24 votes.
