A THREE-METRE-LONG cobra is believed to have swallowed a python near a hiking trail in Penang, China Press reported.

A group of hikers saw the cobra wrapping itself around a smaller python on Thursday evening along the trail between Moongate and Point Five on Penang Hill.

One hiker said he took some photographs and a 65-second video of the snakes.

“We waited for a while, then we continued with our hike.

“We also called the Fire and Rescue Department before we left. We were told that when the firemen arrived at the scene, the snakes were not there anymore,” he said.

“We believe the python, which was much smaller, could have become the cobra’s dinner,” he said.

Hikers have spotted non-venomous snakes along the trail quite often but venomous snakes are rare.

> The family members of a mentally challenged teenager in Sibu, Sarawak, were shocked to find out she is pregnant.

Sin Chew Daily reported that they learnt about the 19-year-old’s pregnancy after she vomited and had headaches in March. By then, she was already seven months’ pregnant.

After being questioned, the girl said her mother’s cousin had sex with her in August last year at a house in Kampung Bahagia Jaya.

Sibu deputy OCPD Supt Martin Koo said police arrested the married 23-year-old suspect and remanded him for seven days from Saturday.

> The same daily also reported that a 30-year-old man in Bintulu, Sarawak, lodged a police report after he found out that his wife is having an affair.

In his report, he claimed that his wife had been acting strangely, leading him to check her handphone.

When he confronted her, she said they were just colleagues.

She finally confessed after her lover uploaded intimate photographs of them together on Facebook.
