A special prayer session was held in Penang for the safe return of Malaysians affected by the devastating floods in Nepal, Makkal Osai reported.
The prayer service was held at the Arulmigu Sri Selva Vinayagar Temple in Butterworth.
More than 1,300 people have lost their lives and thousands more have been displaced following the Aug 26 floods.
All Malaysian Indian Progressive Front Penang chairman Kumaresan Sangaprapani, who organised the gathering, said attendees prayed for the safe return of their countrymen.

The statistic has gained prominence in recent days after a building used as a private hostel for boys near a Delhi University campus collapsed, killing at least seven people while 121 people were rescued from the rubble.
It has also caused further anger and concern regarding the safety of old and modified buildings in the densely populated city.
The first six months of 2026 have seen 233 building collapse emergency calls with 17 deaths and 101 injuries reported.
