Three Perak DAP reps to go

IPOH: Three Perak DAP state assemblymen are set to be dropped.

Cheong Chee Khing, Lim Pek Har and Teh Hock Ke, the incumbents for Bercham, Menglembu and Jelapang respectively, will be dropped from the party line-up, according to talk in the state.

Teh has confirmed that he was stepping down as he was “already 68”, Cheong said he had heard “talk” about the matter while Lim was in the dark over it.

“I want to continue serving, although I have yet to talk to the party leaders. I would gladly defend my seat if given the opportunity,” Cheong said.

Asked if he would contest as an independent if dropped, he said he would never do so.

Lim said she had not heard any such talk. “I think these are just rumours. I am ready to defend my seat and to continue serving to my constituents,” she said.

Teh said he was “tired” and decided not to contest. He said he had informed state party leaders about his decision three years ago.
