Nazri should take a look at himself first, says Liow

KUALA LUMPUR: Padang Rengas MP Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz should take a good hard look at himself before claiming that MCA had boycotted him in his constituency, says Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

The MCA president said MCA has always supported its fellow Barisan Nasional candidates during general elections.

“He’d (Nazri) better take a good look at himself,” he said after opening MCA’s 69th anniversary celebration here yesterday.

Liow was responding to Nazri’s claim that Padang Rengas MCA had boycotted him in the 2013 general election and also claimed that there is collusion with the Opposition from within Barisan.

Earlier in his speech, Liow advised Nazri to mind his language, referring to the Umno supreme council member’s attack on Robert Kuok last week.

Nazri had called the 94-year-old billionaire a pondan (effeminate) and asked to strip him of his Malaysian citizenship after blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin alleged that the tycoon was funding various political parties to overthrow the Government.

The Tourism and Culture Minister’s comments angered the Chinese community.

He also ridiculed MCA for complaining to the Prime Minister and Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak about the attack.

“What’s wrong when MCA conveys the feelings of the Chinese community to the Prime Minister?” Liow said.

Nazri also heaped scorn on MCA, saying that it could not represent the Chinese after the last general election, and that he works with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
