KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth staged a peaceful protest to voice their displeasure against Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz here on the day the party marked its 69th anniversary.
Members were seen with banners and placards carrying messages berating the Umno supreme council member – “Nazri must apologise for uttering rude remarks against Robert Kuok & MCA”, “Nazri getting advantage from inside ... but secretly assisting outsiders. Nazri colluded with DAP”, and “We strongly condemn Nazri for hurting the dignity of MCA”.
The movement’s vice-chairman, Nicole Wong, said the party grassroots and Chinese community were angered by Nazri’s attack on billionaire Robert Kuok and MCA last week.
“The party was flooded with calls from the grassroots nationwide asking us to stage a protest,” she said at Wisma MCA, where members gathered yesterday for its anniversary celebration.
