City roads to be closed in stages to accommodate chariot's return

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 18 roads will be closed in stages to accommodate the return of the golden chariot to the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple on Thursday (Feb 1).

City traffic chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said that the roads affected would be closed from 4pm on Thursday to 2am on Friday (Feb 2).

"Around 10 senior officers along with 50 rank and file policemen will be on the ground to ensure everything goes smoothly," said ACP Zulkefly in a statement on Wednesday.

The roads that will be closed in stages are as follows:

Jalan Batu Caves (MRR2), Jalan Kuching, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Pekeliling, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Ampang, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Pudu, Bulatan Jalan Pudu, Jalan Cheng Lok, Jalan Sultan, Jalan Hang Kasturi, Jalan Hang Lekir and Jalan Tun H.S Lee, heading towards the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple.

Road users are advised to plan their trips accordingly.
