Pursuing your passion on a tight schedule

Passion is a truly invaluable factor in our lives. It is the driving force that keeps us going in the race for happiness and success.

It encourages us to push past the limits and reach for success, even when the odds are stacked against us.

Everyone has a passion to seek out something more in life. While there are those who are still searching for their true life passions, there are others who have already found theirs.

Discovering your drive is a blessing, but how many of us have the time to pursue them? Between a day job and other life commitments, you might not have as much free time as you’d like.

Working on your passion project while on a busy schedule can be challenging but it’s not impossible. As the saying goes, where there’s a will, there’s certainly a way.

Here are some tips on how to do so even when you’re pressed for time.

Think positive

Before you start your pursuit, remember to equip yourself with a positive attitude. The way you approach your journey can make a huge difference in its outcome.

Surround yourself with supportive individuals who can help push you and keep you motivated when the going gets tough.

If you ever have a negative thought, push it away and focus on the positives. To help you think positive thoughts, try reading inspiring success stories or motivational quotes to serve as reminders that every journey has good and bad days.

A good side project to have is to keep a journal documenting everything that you’re grateful for throughout the journey.

Start small

Remember that when you’re pursuing your passion, you don’t have to start with big steps. Start with realistic, attainable goals.

For example, if you’re interested in baking, as a beginner take the time to scout out simple recipes to start with rather than attempting a challenging one like croquembouche on your first try.

Once you’ve mastered the simple steps, gradually move on to bigger challenges. The experiences that you gain from previous challenges will possibly teach you time-saving techniques that can help you with future tasks.

Make sure to celebrate the small achievements because in this journey of pursuing your passion, every small step you take should be celebrated.

Be consistent

Passion is a great driving force, but passion alone is not enough if you’re not consistent. Once you’ve started your pursuit, be sure to follow it through.

Let’s say if you have a passion for art and decide to sign up for art classes, be sure to attend them regularly. Don’t drop out halfway through because you’re too lazy to go or if you think your art isn’t good enough. No one starts out perfectly, so don’t be discouraged.

In the pursuit of your passion, the journey is bound to have its ups and downs. But remember that if you face failure during the course of your journey, don’t give up or let it ruin the fun. Treat it as a learning experience and move on.

No one else can do it for you. It’s up to you to see it through to the end. So remember to be consistent and never throw in the towel.
