Cops question Tony Pua over FB video, confiscate his mobile phone

KUALA LUMPUR: Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua (pic) was called up by Bukit Aman to have his statement recorded over a video posted on his Facebook page which allegedly contained defamatory remarks against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“I have been asked to give my statement over an investigation under Section 500 of the Penal Code (for criminal defamation). It is on a video that I uploaded on Facebook on April 6,” he told reporters outside the Bukit Aman police headquarters on Wednesday.

Pua said that he answered all the questions by the police and that the mobile phone used to record the video was confiscated.

He added that he hoped that police would also investigate Najib and the 1Malaysia Development Bhd case.

Pua arrived at the Bukit Aman police headquarters at about 10.20am on Wednesday, accompanied by lawyer Lim Lip Eng.

He was then later seen leaving the police headquarters at about 11.30am.

Lim, who spoke to the press gathered outside, said that Pua had been taken to his office Bandar Utama to collect the mobile phone.
