PUTRAJAYA: Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai has given his assurance that Malaysian airports are safe, in light of the alleged assassination of North Korea leader Kim Jong-Un's half brother at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) on Monday.
"It (the case) has nothing to do with our airport's safety. We have a very good security camera system. Our airports are safe," said Liow on Wednesday.
Liow declined to make further comment on the case as it is a police matter, but said that Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) would give its full cooperation.
"The matter is under police investigation, so I will leave it to them and will not make further comments.
"I have instructed MAHB to give full co-operation to the police, especially in providing security camera footage and whatever information needed," he said Wednesday.
Reports claim that Jong-Un's half brother Kim Jong-nam was killed after being poisoned by two women suspected to be North Korean operatives while waiting to board a flight.
