DIRA Abu Zahar (pic) is getting a divorce for the second time, Kosmo! reported.
The actress, whose real name is Khaidhirah Abu Zahar, 32, is splitting from her husband of five years, Mohd Helmi Mohd Yusof, 38, a cinematographer.
“We are waiting for a call from the Syariah Court to proceed with the divorce and I would like to keep things private,” she said.
Dira does not have a child with Mohd Helmi and they have not been living together since June.
Both agreed that divorce was the best solution to their marriage problems.
Dira was previously married to musician Tengku Shafiz-Rullah Tengku Mohd Shahid, better known as Ash. They divorced in 2010.
> A young couple from Kampung Maras in Terengganu are enjoying brisk business with ketupat wrapped in sugarcane leaves.
Muhammad Zulkifli Razak, 28, and wife Nor Izatie Azmi, 25, earn RM500 a week from selling the delicacy after making that change.
Ketupat is traditionally wrapped in daun palas (coconut tree leaves) but Muhammad Zulkifli runs a sugarcane juice business and decided to put the usually discarded leaves to good use.
He said ketupat cooked in sugarcane leaves were more fragrant and tasty.
His customers think so too – at least 1,000 pieces, priced at 50sen each, are sold every week.
During festive seasons, the couple sells up to 20,000 pieces.
> Motorists on the North-South Expressway early Wednesday morning saw a seriously injured cow in the middle of the highway, Harian Metro reported.
Mohammad Naqiuddin Mahdon, 20, who was riding his motorcycle home to Seremban from Nilai, spotted the animal at about 3am.
“At first I thought it was a lorry tyre but then I realised what it was and almost cried. The cow looked like it was in much pain.
“I think it fell from a moving vehicle, possibly a lorry, that was transporting it.
“If it had been hit by a vehicle, there would have been debris all around, but there was none,” he said.
He reported it to PLUS Malaysia, the expressway operator, and was told that they would send their personnel to remove the animal.
“I hope the cow is safe,” he added.
