Stanley Augustin divorce case hearing on Sept 6

KUALA LUMPUR: The divorce case involving lawyer Datuk Stanley Clement Augustin will be heard on Sept 6 for case management after his wife Nika Gee Siew Yee appointed a counsel.

Counsel Choo Dee Wei said he was appointed by Gee on Monday. Gee, 54, was not present in court on Tuesday.

"We have filed appearance today before High Court judge Siti Mariah Ahmad," Choo told reporters.

Choo, who was with co-counsel Bryan Ng Yih Miin, said that they would be seeking further instructions from Gee.

He said the court fixed Sept 6 as the next case management.

Cho declined to comment when asked about the statutory declaration made by Stanley involving a senior politician.

Stanley, 65, a former deputy public prosecutor, arrived in court at about 9.55am accompanied by his lawyer S. Periasamy.

Based on the divorce petition filed on December, 2014, Augustin married Gee on Apr 24, 2007 which was registered at the National Registration Department in Putrajaya, two days before Augustin retired from public service as a DPP.

Augustin was a Malaysian and was domiciled in Malaysia when the petition was filed. He had served in various capacities and senior position with the Judicial and Legal Services from 1982 to Apr 2007.

In her reply, Gee said she knew Augustin via a friend, Datuk Yusof Khan, at the Lake Club here around October, 2002 when Augustin was in the process of divorcing his former wife.

She claimed that their relationship became closer end of June, 2003.
