KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia (pic) has ruled that questions in Parliament relating to the RM2.6bil political donation and SRC International are sub judice.
In a written ruling on Thursday, Pandikar said he had made the decision after reviewing conventions applied in other countries.
He added that the judicial review filed by the Bar Council on March 14 against the Attorney-General was still under the evaluation of the court.
“Considering this, the RM2.6bil issue has clearly fallen under the purview of the court as well as per clause 23(1)(g) of the Standing Orders,” he said.
He added that discussing or debating the issue in the Dewan Rakyat could affect those involved in the case.
“Under clause 36(2) of the Standing Orders I believe that those involved in the lawsuit will be affected and I have also taken into consideration the statement by the Attorney-General clearing the Prime Minister of criminal offence,” he said.Already a subscriber? Log in
