Son recounts dad’s heroic deed

GEORGE TOWN: As a boy, Fong King Boon knew his policeman father to be a person with a fierce sense of righteousness, justice and loyalty.

But it was only in the later years that he came to know that his father, retired Constable Fong Thean Kit, who died on Tuesday, was one of the few recipients of the country’s highest award, the Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa.
