Bangladeshi human trafficking victims to be sent home

PETALING JAYA: Sixty-one Bangladeshi nationals who were victims of human trafficking will be sent back to their home country.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry announced today that the human trafficking victims will be sent home in stages, starting with the first group.

The Ministry said that the repatriation was decided after a discussion between the Ministry and the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

“The first group of 61 will be going home on Thursday, June 18, at 3.20pm,” said the Ministry in a statement on Wednesday.

The Ministry added that the group will be taken by bus from the Belantik Immigration Detention Centre to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport for their flight to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
