MACC freezes over 1,600 accounts worth RM560mil in Sabah


PETALING JAYA: A massive operation in Sabah led by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) saw 1,623 bank accounts worth RM560mil frozen and more than RM1mil in jewellery seized.

The operation, codenamed Ops BS was launched in the state, with the involvement of 420 officers from various enforcement agencies including MACC, the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom), General Operations Force, Customs Department, Bank Negara and the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry.
