Don’t use Islam to spread liberalism, says Mashitah

KUALA LUMPUR: Former deputy minister Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim has lashed out at certain quarters for attempting to spread the ideology of liberalism and pluralism to 'already confused’ Muslims in the country.

Mashitah who is also a delegate from Kedah claimed there have been many attempts to confuse the Malays - from a non-governmental organisation which uses Islam to spread liberalism to the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) and a dog-petting event that was held recently.
