PEKAN: The state-level Malaysia Day celebration here was carried out to reflect the importance of staying united in the face of adversity.

With a backdrop of the MH17 tragedy, students from several schools in Kuantan and Pekan reenacted the arrival of the remains of those who died when the aircraft was shot down over Ukraine on July 17.
