Govt to invoke Water Services Industry Act to control Selangor water operators

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Government will invoke the Water Services Industry Act 2006 (Wasia) to assume control of the water operators in Selangor following unsuccessful negotiations by the Selangor government to restructure the water services industry in the state.

The decision was made by the Cabinet in its weekly meeting on Friday, said Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.
