Carpet seller drowns while riding bike on flooded bridge


KOTA BARU: A Pakistani national paid with his life when he tried to ride a motorcycle across a bridge submerged in a river in Jeli following heavy rain.

Muktaj Gull, 38, drowned after the machine slid into the five-metre deep Sungai Ketil in Ladang Kuala Balah at 12.30 pm, as he was attempting to get across to the other side of the river, said Jeli Fire and Rescue station chief Assistant Superintendent Soleh Nasir.
