Lynas demands apology from Himpunan for defamation

In a letter of demand served by Lynas' lawyers Jeff Leong, Poon and Wong, the company said that it had learned that Himpunan Hijau had engaged in the publication of allegedly false, destructive and defamatory statements against Lynas in an article on the Friends of the Earth's website.

It said Himpunan Hijau had implied that Lynas was a corrupt company and was working with the corrupt local authorities in obtaining the approval for the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) in Gebeng here.
