Kelantan to pay three months' rent for Gok Kapur fire victims, says MB

KOTA BHARU: The Kelantan state government has agreed to pay housing rental for three months for 27 families affected by a fire in Kampung Gok Kapur here on Monday (June 8).

Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud said the initiative will be overseen by the Kota Bharu District and Land Office in cooperation with related agencies.

"The state government understands the hardship faced by victims and their families following the loss of their homes and belongings in the incident," he said in a statement on Thursday (June 11).

He said various forms of assistance would continue to be considered and provided from time to time, based on needs and available capacity.

"The state government also expressed its appreciation to all parties, including government agencies, uniformed bodies, non-governmental organisations, corporate companies and members of the public, for coming forward to assist all affected victims," he said.
