KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man pleaded not guilty to cheating an Indonesian tourist and a clerk by inducing them to hand over their jewellery to secure jobs at outlets where he claimed to be a manager.
Siah Ban Yuh, 30, was accused of cheating tourist Rina Wati by leading her into believing he was the manager of the Gap outlet in Mid Valley City. He had asked Rina to hand over her jewellery worth RM1,200 to him before she could enter the outlet to start work.
