KUALA LUMPUR: There has been no report of pirate activity at the Straits of Malacca in Malaysian waters, despite assertions by the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) that the most dangerous pirate lair was located at the straits within Indonesian waters, even more than in Somalian waters.

Malaysia Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) criminal investigation branch director First Admiral Datuk Zulkifili Abu Bakar said no pirate activity was reported in the country's waters of the straits in the first six months of the year.
